3-Day Marrakech to Fes Desert Tour Itinerary

DAY 1
Atlas Mountains - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Dades Gorge

Starting at 8 am, we'll set out from Marrakech on a 7-hour journey to Dades Gorge. Our trip takes us through the breathtaking Atlas Mountains and traditional Berber villages. We’ll make a special stop at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Ben Haddou, a 12,000-year-old Kasbah that was an important part of the ancient Salt Road. This village is also famous as a filming location for movies like "Indiana Jones" and "Gladiator," as well as the TV series "Game of Thrones."

Next, we’ll visit Ouarzazate and drive through the scenic Skoura and Rose Valley before reaching Dades Valley. We'll end the day with a relaxing stay at a traditional kasbah.

DAY 2
Dades Gorge - Todra Gorge - Rissani - Merzouga

On the second day, we’ll continue our journey toward the Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, part of the vast Sahara Desert. We’ll pass through more Berber villages and stop at Todra Gorge and Rissani, a city with deep religious significance in Morocco and the birthplace of the ruling dynasty. In Rissani, we’ll explore its rich history.

From there, we'll drive through rocky landscapes to reach the Merzouga desert. We'll enjoy a camel trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes, ending with a stunning Saharan sunset. We’ll spend the night at a desert camp, where we’ll have dinner under the stars and enjoy traditional music from local nomads.

DAY 3
Merzouga - Erfoud - Errachidia - Midelt - Fes

On the final day, you can start with an optional early morning sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes. After a camel trek back, we’ll have breakfast prepared by local Berbers. Our 8-hour drive to Fes will take us through various villages and the Middle Atlas Mountains. We might even stop to see monkeys in the cedar forests. Lunch will be at local restaurants along the way. We’ll conclude our journey with arrival in Fes, marking the end of our incredible 3-day adventure through Morocco.
